We’re going to have to get along! It’s going to take a well oiled machine to make a well oiled machine. Teams of three to five will design, construct, program, and test a battle bot. Ultimately the teams will face off in “The Tank”, an 8 foot by 8 foot arena of robotic mayhem. Only one will emerge the victor and take home the glory! Weather permitting the final event will take place outdoors. Within social distancing guidelines, parents are invited to watch the final battle! For those that cannot attend, the event will also be broadcast live on Zoom, and recorded for later viewing on YouTube.
Students will be presented with a pile of parts, including an 8 channel relay module, a wheel and motor kit, and a Raspberry Pi model 0 WH. They will then design and build a robot based on these materials. To succeed they will need to learn to install a Linux operating system, make a web-based interface, use the Git version control system, program in Python, and design and build mechanical systems with a computer interface.
Each student will receive their own Raspberry Pi 0 WH to take home, keep, and experiment with.

Day four: Let’s design a basic robot.
